I need a help

I am making a project, here i have one parent class (User) and this parent has to children (Owner and Doctor) they have own parameters and own methods . Now I take user object out from db and since i want to give this user new role “ROLE_OWNER” I want to downcast it, so i can set new parameters to this object and then save it to the common db, but my java throws an exception
