The traditional way is to learn jsp servlet first

Then jump to spring core including jpa
You get better grip
For xml configuration later
Hibernate framework followed by jpa
Native query then jpql
But
When you have lesser time simply jump on spring boot its more abstracted
Try to follow the standard directory structure,
Annotations,
Dto
Entity creation
Jpa query and Crud operation
Get put post delete patch
